Visit Carré d’artistes Art Gallery Philadelphia Saturday, March 25 through Sunday, March 26, for a truly unique art experience. We are hosting French oil painter David Fonteyne for two days of live painting. Don’t miss this rare opportunity for an intimate look at this talented painter’s artistic process!
From 12 to 7 p.m. for an exclusive two days only, you can witness Fonteyne create several works of art in the tradition of the Impressionists. See his seascapes and landscapes come to life in his iconic sculptural, yet evocative, style. His expert use of a palette knife and gorgeous hues bring his paintings to life with texture and emotion, and convey his passion for creating. As a special treat, Fonteyne will also be personally signing paintings for gallery patrons, for his paintings both bought in store or brought from home.
Both Saturday and Sunday, not only can you experience live art, but also hear about the process from the artist himself! Fonteyne will be taking questions from gallery patrons, so they canlearn more about his artistic process and what inspires him. Find out more about the French painter who followed in his family’s footsteps; coming from a family with generations of artists, Fonteyne’s talent was apparent when he sold his first painting at the ripe age of 12 years old. With only a brief time at the School of Fine Arts in Nice, France, Fonteyne chose to be unhindered by rigor and precision and instead let his art be guided by impulse and independence. He equates the necessity of painting to that of breathing, putting his true self into everything he creates.
